Whether it's parked beside a forestry block or tucked behind the house near the marae, our truck makes the trip out to Te Whaiti - no need to drag it into Rotorua or Whakatane first.
Te Whaiti sits right on the doorstep of Whirinaki Forest Park, well inland along State Highway 38 between Murupara and Ruatahuna. It's beautiful country, but it's also hard on vehicles long gravel stretches, steep climbs, and the kind of isolation that makes a straightforward car sale genuinely difficult. There's no local dealership to trade in to, and towing a dead vehicle all the way to Rotorua or Whakatane can cost more than the car is worth.
Most of what we buy out this way has worked hard for its living: forestry crew vehicles, farm utes, and 4WDs used for hunting trips into the Ureweras. These vehicles often still run perfectly well mechanically, but years of gravel roads and river crossings take a toll on panels, suspension, and underbodies that a WOF inspector will always find eventually.
Because we know the area is remote, we build travel time into how we schedule pickups rather than treating it as an inconvenience. If your property is down a forestry road or behind a locked gate, just tell us when you call and we'll bring the right gear and plan the trip accordingly.
We also keep an eye on SH38 conditions ourselves, since a washout or slip can close the road for hours at a time. If that happens on the day we're due out, we simply reschedule at no cost to you.
Our drivers are equipped for gravel, gates, and long unsealed driveways not just kerbside pickups.
We buy as-is. There's no expectation you repair anything or get it warranted before we arrive.
If SH38 is closed by a slip or heavy rain, we reschedule around it rather than leaving you stuck.
Work vehicles that have earned their retirement after years on gravel and forestry blocks.
Vehicles built for the bush that are ready to be replaced, running or not.
Reliable runabouts that have simply reached the end of the road, mechanically or on paper.
Describe the vehicle and roughly where it's parked on the property.
A fair quote over the phone, accounting for rural and forestry access.
We plan around weather and road conditions along SH38.
Confirm the vehicle, take payment, and we tow it away.
"Had an old forestry ute that wasn't worth fixing anymore. They quoted it over the phone off a description and a couple of photos, then made the trip out and stuck to the price."

Yes — these are among the most common vehicles we buy in this area, running or not.
That's fine. We regularly buy vehicles with lapsed WOF and registration.
